For the best result i want to use 1080/50p recording...
After editing with iMovie i want to burn the files to DVD or better BD.

Just another remark: 1080/50p is no standard Blu-ray format, officially Blu-ray supports 1080/50i only, and p formats at lower resolutions only. Some new Blu-ray players can cope with 1080 /50p, some can't, you will have to give it a try. However, if you plan to pass your BDs to friends, there will be a 50% chance that they can't play them. Currently the only safe way to play 1080/50p is by software players on a PC, or by multimedia players that have this format in their specification. For example, the cheap WD TV Live multimedia player can play 1080/50p. Because of these limitations, I have completely stopped burning any DVDs or Blu-rays. I save my own files on hard drives that feed the WD TV Life, and if I want to take a video to somebody else, I save it on a memory stick.
Greetings from Germany
Horst
